This year’s awards, scheduled for November 29, reflect an impressive increase in engagement, having received a staggering 670 submissions, a doubling from last year’s numbers. Out of the submitted works, 25 films have secured their place in the spotlight, boasting a remarkable diversity across 14 Asian countries and 20 languages. The selection includes 13 feature-length films and 12 short films, notably highlighting the strong presence of female filmmakers—nearly half of the selections are directed by women. Moreover, this year has introduced a wave of fresh talent, with nine debut feature-length films making it to the shortlist.
